Backups
The IT group DOES NOT provide automatic backups for data on linux devices. The owner/user is responsible for backups.
Enterprise Backups
TAMU offers enterprise backups. More information can be found here: Enterprise Backup Service
Self-Service backups
Users are encouraged to perform self-service backups of their data. Options for this include using the built-in tools to backup data to an external hard disk, using cloud storage sync agents (Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.), or subscribing to a dedicated cloud backup service.
A popular tool for data sync on linux is rclone. More information can be found here:
